Apostle Suleman Escapes Attempted Assassination

0

The founder of Omega Fire Ministry, Apostle Johnson Suleman, was involved in what appeared to be an assassination attempt on Friday evening. The sad incident resulted in the death of three policemen, two drivers and a lady; all of which were part of the cleric’s convoy. This happened at about 5 pm near Auchi at the Water Tank Junction along Warake-Auchi road, Edo state

The fiery pastor was just returned from a just-concluded program in Tanzania on Thursday, then flew to Lagos and Benin afterwards to be with his family. His wife and children were with him when the incident happened.

Eyewitnesses who confirmed the incident said two vehicles – an ash-coloured sienna vehicle and a Toyota Avalon, both without plate numbers drove aggressively, blocked all other vehicles and headed straight to Apostle Suleman’s convoy and opened fire on his vehicle.

Sam Amune, who is the church’s legal adviser confirmed the incident. He said, “I think it is a case of an assassination attempt because the assailants who were in an Avalon and Sienna vehicles stopped other vehicles to reach Apostle Suleman’s convoy and they did not take anybody, the people just stopped and watched the drama unfolded.

He just finished a program in Tanzania the day before yesterday and flew to Lagos and then to Benin where his family joined him. His children normally drive in a separate vehicle but his time, they drove with their father while other domestic staff drove in their vehicle. He escaped death but the others were not lucky. Three orderlies who normally drive directly behind him and then the next vehicle were not lucky. It is very unfortunate to lose those lives,’’ Amune said.
